Location | Nice, Monaco & Cannes
As you saw in our last post we stayed in a really sick little apartment in Nice which made us feel more at home in this beautiful seaside French city. We spent most of our days wandering down to the beach, which actually had waves (although very little). Nice is a gorgeous city although quite expensive in terms of the rest of Europe. One could easily spend five days like we did as we took a day trip to Cannes, home of the Cannes film festival which is about an hour and a bit by bus. Cannes is like Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive but on the ocean, picture not only all the regular designer shops like Chanel, Dior and Gucci, but also Celine, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent. And then there was Monacco. We took a late afternoon/night trip to Monacco from Nice so we could see the Monte Carlo Casino. It’s a pretty special place (sorry, country) and we’ve never seen so many expensive cars parked next to each other all at once, and we don’t mean your everyday BMW, we are talking Rolls Royce, Lamborghini and Ferrari.
It’s pretty special visiting these kinds of places whilst on our trip. Although for the most part it is depressing, all the fancy cars, boats and designer goods really serve as a reminder that hard work can seriously can pay off.
