Athens

We only spent a short few days in Athens before we headed off on our Island hopping adventure. We did however have the chance to climb up to the acropolis and wasn’t it beautiful. The view from the top was a seriously good panorama of the entire city. If you only have a short time in Athens like us make sure you put the visit to the Acropolis at the top of the list. Also, our hostel in Athens is one we highly recommend – Athens Style. It is right below the acropolis and next to the metro station in Monastiraki square.

Mykonos

We planned on staying at Paradise beach club but because it was all booked out we stayed at Paraga beach which turned out to only be a ten minute walk over the cliff from Paradise beach. If you’ve been to Greece before you will be familiar with Gyros (Kebabs with hot chips) and Mykonos certainly boasts the best from all the islands we visited. We didn’t really take all that many photos because we were either partying or recovering sunbaking the next day whilst eating gyros (on that Europe diet). We will recommend that if your down for a good time in Mykonos then definitely pay the 30€ or so and see one of the DJ’s. We went and saw both Will Sparks and Laidback Luke at Paradise Beach Club and Carvo Paradiso (respectively). Not only is the nighttime clubbing experience unreal but the day parties are also something else. We won’t say more because if you haven’t been yet your in for a real treat. Just remember sleep is for the weak.

Santorini

We actually missed our ferry from Mykonos to Santorini. So, make sure you have your tickets prep’d and ready at least a couple hours before your boat leaves. Being stranded is never fun. Nor is paying 60€ for a boat (although we rocked business class bitchez). We stayed at Fira backpackers which was quite a nice hostel, equipped with a mini kitchen and small pool. You HAVE to hire quads to see the whole island – it was such an incredible experience and one of our number one recommendations. Red beach and Black beach are easy to do on the quads and are quite spectacular. After watching the sunset in Oia, it’s worth spending the money to have a nice dinner in the evening light overlooking all of the roofs and the ocean to let the whole experience soak in. You can get a lot out of Santorini in just 3 days.

Ios

So here’s our advice,

1. Stay at FarOut beach club and go to the day parties, all of the day parties.
2. But, make sure you get the last bus into town at midnight because the walk up the hill sucks.
3. Go to Slammer bar and pay the 5€ to get whacked over the head with a skateboard, cricket bat, fire hose or all of the above.
4. Pay 20€ for 7 shots, do them all at once and get a free shirt.
5. Have a Mexican feast then jump off the rocks at Harmony and listen to some sweet sweet live music (by some beautiful boys)
6. Go to Rehab – you won’t regret it

Oh and once again if you do Ios right you’ll need quite a few recovery days after because there’s no rest for the wicked.

We can’t really say much more but enjoy every moment. Whether your going for the partying or just to live the island life we recommended putting your phones/cameras/computers away and really just living. Our week (and a bit) in Greece was unreal and we are already planning are return.
